Prepping for a Kitchari cleanse

BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE CLEANSE

Ease your transition into the cleanse with the following tips. Remember, the more you prep for this cleanse, the easier and most enjoyable it will be of an experience!

  1. This cleanse is not for: Keep in mind this cleanse is not recommended for pregnant women, children, the elderly, sick or people suffering from IBS. If you’re menstruating, wait until you’re done before starting.

  2. Foods to avoid: The week or few days leading up to the cleanse, avoid processed & fried foods, refined sugars, alcohol, tobacco, animal meats. Favor vegetarian meals.

  3. Clear your schedule: The more you can clear your schedule for the entirety of your 3-day cleanse, the better. Work load might be out of your control so free up your social commitments for those three days as minimizing your exposure to stress and an overpacked schedule will support the detoxing process.

  4. Block time in your calendar: Put your cleanse on the calendar. We recommend starting on a Saturday so you are free of work obligations over the weekend to get familiarized with cooking kitchari before taking it to work on Monday.

  5. Buy the following:

  6. Get a cleansing buddy: Join a group or get a friend to do the cleanse with you. It’s easier and simply more fun to be able to share the experience.
