Healthy foods to watch out for

The foods we eat should do more than taste good. They should make us feel energized, alive and ultimately give us the energy to live our life to the fullest. But too often, foods — yes, even the ones that are deemed ‘healthy’ — make us feel (pardon my French)... like merde.

A vast majority of us eat healthy but still feel low-energy with frequent bloating, gas, irritability, heartburn and brain fog. As a result, we don’t show up our best, for ourself and others.

HEALTHY FOODS TO WATCH OUT FOR

🥬 Raw food & green juiceS

All raw food is particularly difficult to digest & requires more of your body’s energy to break down! They may contain more nutrient value at the start but since they are harder to digest, you often don't benefit from the whole spectrum of their nutrients

🥜 Nuts

All types of nuts are heavy to digest and can be very heating, causing excessive body heat and skin conditions

🍏 Apple cider vinegar

Although it cleans out grease and toxins in your body, it can also damage the protective mucus lining of your gut and can burn your insides

✨ Probiotics

When not needed, probiotics cause excessive body heat and in people with weak digestion, the bacteria in the probiotic can cause gas, bloating and more indigestion

🍺 Kombucha

All types of fermented foods (including Kombucha) can cause inflammation, as well as gas and bloating. Both Ayurveda and Western advocates recommend consuming fermented foods, as condiment size!

🍑 Fruit with meals

When we eat fruit with a meal, the fruit juices come into contact with the other foods and turns into acid, and the whole meal starts to ferment and spoil. When fruit mixes with other foods, it produces gas, so we feel bloated and burpy
