Cooking Tips

Batch Cooking

2 servings = 20min
2 pouches x 4 cups water x 8” pot

4 servings = 20 min
4 pouches x 6 cups water x 8” pot

Easiest Topping

Just top kitchari with half an avocado, squeezes of lemon and 1 tsp of ghee or coconut oil — it’s delicious!

Cooking Time

Kitchari is meant to be cooked until it reaches the consistency of oatmeal/risotto. It takes ~20-min on average but it can vary based on your pot size (and even altitude!). So if needed, add water and cook a bit longer, until fully soft and smooth like oatmeal.

Add your veggies directly into the pot! Here’s how:

Carrots & root veggies
at the beginning, with Kitchari mix

Zucchini, asparagus & broccoli
middle of cooking (10min in)

Spinach, kale, leafy greens
end of cooking, when ~3min left
