Eco friendly pack & delivery service

We send your orders via a carbon-neutral delivery service and package our Kitchari in 100% compostable plant-based pouches that are safe for home composting. Simply sepaprate the pouch from its paper bag topper, throw the bag topper in your recyclables and compost the pouch. If you don’t compost, it’s better to throw it out with your trash vs. with other recyclables. Compostable products can disrupt the recycling process but when they are placed in an open landfill where oxygen is available, they will decompose at a rate similar to other biodegradable materials in the same setting.

Answers to all your questions

How it works & benefits

Eat

  • Regular Mealtimes: e.g. 8am breakfast, 12:30pm lunch, 6:30pm dinner & allow at least 3-4 hours in between meals. Eating at regular times supports digestion because it allows for your gut to know when to create digestive enzymes! For a good night sleep, try not to eat anything after 7PM. Tips for Increasing your Digestive Strength
  • Eat Without Distractions: If you’re eating while watching TV, working, being on your phone or having a heated argument with someone, you will hamper your ability to digest your food. When you’re tense or emotionally triggered, your nervous system is in fight-or-flight mode, not rest-and-digest mode. So it will be harder for your body to digest food properly. Instead, engage in a relaxing practice or activity, and eat later, when you’re calm. 7 Ways to Eat More Mindfully

Drink

  • Morning Warm Lemon Water: it flushes out the digestive system and gets rid of any lingering matter from the days before.
  • Warm Herbal Teas: replace ice or cold water with warm water or herbal teas. Ice water simply dampens your digestive capacity
  • Hydrate IN BETWEEN Meals: avoid drinking water or teas during meals

Practice self-care

  • Virtual Reset Ritual Series: 1/day
  • Gentle Exercise: Choose slow, strength training like lunges, squats, resistance band training, yoga and low-intensity exercises. Avoid: bootcamp, spinning, cardio classes etc.
  • Self-Lymphatic Massage: We get our lymph moving by dry brushing and oil massaging to increase proper blood circulation and lymph drainage which encourage the elimination of toxins read more

Sleep

  • 9PM Electronic Curfew: Shut off all screens by 9pm -- read, meditate, take an epsom salt bath. To condition your body and mind into 'sleep mode’, turn off all electronics at 9pm so you can fall asleep by 10pm. Electronics put out a blue light that activates cortisol and stimulates your nervous system - so turning them off ahead of going to bed is paramount to getting a good quality sleep.
  • 10PM Bedtime: Your digestive system and liver naturally cleanse themselves everyday from 10pm-2am so you want to be sleeping then to support this natural detox! Remember, we all have a second wind of energy at 10pm so we want to be in bed by then… How to finally sleep better
  • Bedtime Foot Massage: Massage the palm of your feet with sesame or coconut oil read more

How to prep

To make your 3-Day Feel Golden Kitchari Reset as beneficial as possible, we recommend prepping the body & mind 3 days-to-a-week before you start.

  • Foods to avoid: The week or few days leading up to the cleanse, avoid processed and fried foods, refined sugars, alcohol, animal meats and try to cut down on caffeinated drinks. Favor vegetarian meals.
  • Get your grocery & props here (hyperlink to Grocery & prop list)
  • Clear your schedule: The more you can clear your schedule for the entirety of your 3-Day Reset, the better. Work load might be out of your control so free up your social commitments for those three days as minimizing your exposure to stress and an overpacked schedule will support the resetting process.
  • Block time in your calendar: Put your reset on the calendar. We recommend starting on a Saturday so you are free of work obligations over the weekend to enjoy some R&R and to enjoy the Virtual Rituals.

Herbal support, in case of constipation

  • Diet changes can sometimes constipate. You want to make sure you have a bowel movement daily — that's true always, but especially while you’re resetting! So prep for eventual constipation by getting one of these mild laxatives:
    • For everyone (except AIR types*): Triphala
    • For AIR types*: Haritaki(only AIR types)

* Don’t know you’re Mind-Body Type? Take the quiz here (link to quiz page)

  • Tips to know which herbal support to get:
    • If you typically pass rabbit pellet stools that is hard to pass or have a bowel movement only every 2 days or less = you most likely need to get Haritaki.
    • If you have regular daily bowel movements, tend to have soft/runny stool or slow to pass stool that is tends to be moist = you most likely need to get Triphala.

What to expect

  • This 3-Day Feel Golden Kitchari Reset is generally safe for all Mind & Body Types and their imbalances. Keep in mind that any reset can be physically tiring and emotionally taxing due to the detoxifying nature of the process, especially if you have an extremely stressful lifestyle.
  • Depending on your current diet, eating a monodiet could cause mild constipation during the cleanse. If your bowel movements slow down or if stool becomes difficult to pass, eat soaked prunes or take the following herbal supplements (link to herbal Supplements for constipation section of grocery list). Proper elimination during a cleanse is critical to the detox process so take something as soon as you notice a change.
  • This is a very gentle cleanse, as cleanses go, so you will most likely not find yourself experiencing discomfort. Having said that, you could still experience physical or emotional ups and downs, headaches, body aches, fatigue, irritability. These are all normal, make sure you sleep & hydrate loads.

Post reset to do

After completing the 3-Day Feel Golden Kitchari Reset, your body may continue to process toxicity for a few days and, your digestive system will have become used to a very clean and easy-to-digest diet… so you’ll have to ease into a more diverse diet to prevent reversing the benefits of your reset. This is NOT the time to celebrate with a burger and glass of wine!

  • Eat cooked foods: they are easiest to digest. You may continue to eat Kitchari as long as you wish or make some of the following nourishing recipes
  • Avoid harder-to-digest foods like meats, cheese and pasta
  • Upon waking, continue drinking warm water with lemon and a pinch of mineral salt to stay hydrated
  • Sleep: Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night
  • Workout: Gradually work up to your normal workout rhythm and intensity

Ideal times to reset

  • POST-INDULGING: Curb cravings and reset your taste buds after an indulgent weekend or poor diet choices and unhealthy lifestyle habits
  • UNHAPPY GUT: If you’re experiencing heart burn, gas, bloating and other digestive troubles, it’s time to give your digestive system a break and balance your gut microbiome
  • TIRED, STRESSED & INSOMNIAC: Soothing the gut calms the nervous system, supports immunity & increases energy levels
  • SEASONAL CHANGE: Seasons changing can add burden to our system and lead to imbalances or a mental/physical burnout that stress our adrenals & nervous system and put some of the body's natural detox processes on hold

Who is this for?

  • Gentle and nutritious, this 3-Day Feel Golden Kitchari Reset is well suited for everyone.
  • Keep in mind that it is not recommended for pregnant women, children, the elderly, sick or people suffering from IBS. If you’re menstruating, wait until you’re done before starting.

Love your product!

I have done a kitchari cleanse in the past but had to curate and buy all the individual ingredients. You make the process simple and tasty! I have already recommend the product to others. The teas are also delicious and your packaging is brilliant. I feel energized and light after my three day cleanse and will do it again in the spring. Wish I had thought of it! Thank you for making such a great product.
