Most people pay attention to their eyes only if they have a problem. Yet hot Summer days and the hours spent watching TV and working on computers take their toll on our eyes.

Here are super simple tips for keeping your eyes bright and rested:

πŸ‘€ In general, refresh your eyes by splashing them gently with cool water, blinking 7 times (once for each chakra), and rotating them in all directions

πŸ‘€ If they burn, are bloodshot or light sensitive: lie down for 15 minutes with milk-soaked cotton balls on your closed lids or cucumber slices

πŸ‘€ If you wake up to eyes that are more crusty than usual: wash the eye boogers with water and sprinkle the eyes with rose water

πŸ‘€ Dry, itchy eyes: massage your eyes with ghee to soothe the dry eye or you can simply add a drop of lukewarm ghee in each eye to heal.

πŸ‘€ What you eat also affects your eyes, and one of the best ways to amp up your vision is to chow down on antioxidants like spinach, broccoli, corn, strawberries, and nuts

πŸ‘€ Our time on screens has helped create a world full of people rubbing tired eyes. We become zombies in front of a glowing screen, blinking only three times a minute instead of the normal 20. The result? Dry eyes. So every thirty minutes, set a reminder on your phone to look away from the computer, TV or phone for a few minutes.

πŸ‘€ One of the biggest enemies of the eyes is lack of sleep. If you have a tendency to stay up too late, try going to bed just fifteen minutes earlier everyday. Gradually bring your bedtime closer to 10:00pm. WHAT? Yes, it’s doable and it feels amazing :)
