Ashwagandha sleep tonic
This Yoom ashwagandha, almond milk & date sleep tonic is a remedy for better sleep. To be enjoyed as part of your evening routine (read: How to finally sleep better), the combination of almonds, sweet dates, ghee and raw honey nourish our bodies which are, at the end of the day, very often depleted from the day’s stress, poor diet and irregular routine. Also made with both saffron (which relaxes the nerves) and Ayurveda’s most well-known adaptogen - ashwagandha (which is anti-inflammatory, anti-stress, and sleep-inducing), this tonic has a calming influence on the nervous system and, consequentially, on the entire being. Ingredients
2 cups almond milk (buy or make it yourself: Yoom recipe here)
3 pitted dates
1 tablespoon ghee (or butter)
1 tablespoon raw honey
1/2 teaspoon cardamom
¼ teaspoon saffron
¼ teaspoon ashwagandha powder
Steps
In a small saucepan, warm the almond milk until warm, not boiling.
Blend milk and all remaining ingredients until smooth.
Pour into a mug and enjoy before bed.
